Curator Dan Bailey opened The Old Bailey Gallery in October 2023 with a mission to promote Birmingham, Alabama as an emerging art city. The gallery’s residency program has hosted visiting artists from New York, London and beyond, fostering connections with larger, more established art markets and inviting a lucky few to experience Birmingham’s buoyant creative community firsthand. 

Located in the Crestwood North neighborhood, The Old Bailey Gallery resides in a historic brick building with a long history of hosting artists, musicians and alternative spaces. The gallery strives to honor the legacy of creative expression the block has been known for for decades. 

The Old Bailey Gallery welcomes collaboration and has provided exhibition space for outside curators and nonprofit organizations such as Vinegar Projects and Studio By The Tracks.
